BELFAST —This holiday season there will be classic holiday movies screening at the Colonial Theatre, 163 High St., to benefit Waldo Community Action Partners’ “Heroes for Hunger.” There are three dates on the calendar with four big screen favorites: “Elf” with Will Farrell; “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” with Jim Carrey; and two classics, the heartwarming “It’s a Wonderful Life” and the comedic genius of “A Christmas Story.”  Whether you love Buddy, Cindy Lou, George Bailey or Ralphie, there’s a holiday story to please one and all.

On Saturday, Dec. 11, at noon, join your friends and neighbors for “Elf” in two of the theatres. There is limited seating, so come and grab those seats early.

The Tuesday, Dec. 14, evening show has two different films, “It’s a Wonderful Life” at 6:45 p.m. and “A Christmas Story” at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Dec. 18, at noon, the Colonial shows Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

These screenings are a fundraiser for WCAP’s “Heroes for Hunger” program to help 1,000 homes of needy children and families with food cartons.
