SEARSPORT — Members of Searsport High School class of 2022 are sponsoring a Festival of Trees Saturday, Dec. 4, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school on Mortland Road.

The money raised will help seniors purchase caps and gowns for this year’s graduation ceremonies, as well as provide for a senior trip.

All trees are being donated by local businesses and decorated with a theme of their choice. At the end of the event, one ticket will be drawn per tree and the winner will win everything that comes with the tree, including ornaments, lights and gifts.

According to fundraising coordinator Danielle Astbury, 14 trees donated have been donated so far by area businesses. “We will have food and drinks for sale, including cheesecake and pie slices,” she said, along with  Christmas music and Santa Claus on Sunday.

Admission is by donation with raffle tickets on sale at 10 for $5 and $10 for an arm’s length of tickets.

Santa and helpers will be there Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cookie decorating, hot chocolate and photos. All are welcome.
