At the library

Book Club will meet Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Community Building at 42 Prospect St. at 1 p.m. and will be discussing “The Detective in the Dooryard.” Join in or just listen. It could be a good way to find our if you want to read a book or not!

Spice Club will feature mint this month. Try new flavors, new recipes or just get out of a cooking rut with kits that can be picked up at Carver Library, no charge. Each kit comes with recipes and the historical background of the featured spice of the month. Hmm, think there could be some cookie recipes this month?

Crafters! There are two DIY kits this month! Very cute felt gnomes available Dec. 10 and yarn mandalas that became available Dec. 3. Now if you had to look up “mandala” as I had to, a mandala is a geometric design or pattern originally used as a focus for meditation in Eastern cultures. Try a design! They are fun to complete.

Select Board Chair Doug Norman announced Game Day, a new program at the community center for seniors. As soon as the COVID numbers decrease, a date will be set.

Wreaths Across America will come through Searsport Sunday, Dec. 12 about 10:30 a.m.

The library will be closed Friday and Saturday, Dec. 24 and 25, then also closed for New Year’s Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2022.
