SEARSPORT — The Searsport basketball teams hosted the 2021 Viking Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 4, as Islesboro and Bangor Christian participated in the three-high school hardwood preseason event.

The Searsport girls finished 2-0 and boys 1-1, while the Islesboro squads were 0-2.

Girls

Searsport 43, Islesboro 7

At Searsport Dec. 4, the Vikings netted a lopsided win over the Eagles. Searsport led 14-0, 22-0 and 36-2 at the quarter breaks.

Baileigh Bagley keyed the balanced Searsport attack with 12 points, while Lilly Nadeau added eight; Eille Cahill and Laura Warman, six; Joanna Wilson, five; Kyla Perkins, four; and Emily Mello, two.

Rosie Brimley scored three points for Islesboro, while Anna Zlotkowski and Lucy Kossuth added two.

The Vikings finished 0-of-2 from the foul line, while the Eagles did not attempt a free throw.

Searsport 30, Bangor Christian 16

At Searsport Dec. 4, the Vikings pulled away from the Patriots in the third quarter and emerged with the win. Searsport led 9-4, 13-8 and 25-11 at the quarter breaks.

Kyla Perkins led Searsport with 10 points, while Emily Mello added five; Baileigh Bagley and Laura Warman, four; Ellie Cahill, three; and Joanna Wilson and Lily Nadeau, two.

Grace Lewis keyed Bangor Christian with seven points, while Tessa Baker added six and Abby Brown two.

The Vikings were 2-of-4 (50 percent) from the foul line, while the Patriots were 3-of-5 (60 percent).

Boys

Searsport 60, Islesboro 21

At Searsport Dec. 4, the Vikings jumped to an early lead and prevailed over the islanders. Searsport led 20-2, 32-11 and 52-12 at the quarter breaks.

Josh Wright paced the Vikings with 27 points, while Sam Cahill added 12; Cole Ellis, five; Hunter Treat, four; Eli Law, three; and Ashton Ellis, Gage Ellis, Tim Smith and Oliver Carbisiero, two.

Julian Kelly scored six points for the Eagles, while Sam Jagger added five; Logan Burns, four; Charlie Jagger and Shamus Dove, two; and Chase Cook and Tobias Conover, one.

Searsport netted 11-of-28 (39 percent) from the charity stripe, while Islesboro was 7-of-17 (41 percent).

Bangor Christian 53, Searsport 42

At Searsport Dec. 4, the Patriots pulled away in the second half and defeated the Vikings. Bangor Christian led 10-5, 20-13 and 38-23 at the quarter breaks.

Josh Wright led the Vikings with 15 points, while Tim Smith added 12; Eli Law, four; Ashton Ellis and Gage Ellis, three; Sam Cahill and Sean Page, two; and Charlie Lewis, one.

Jalen Reed scored 23 points for the Patriots, while Jason Libby added 17; Conrad Straubel, six; Tim Foster, three; and Colton White and Sean Jost, two.

Searsport iced 11-of-17 (65 percent) from the foul line, while Bangor Christian was 0-of-2.
