Hello Monroe!

I’ve enjoyed evening drives around Monroe and surrounding towns lately, with many homes and businesses festively decorated and lit for the holiday season. When Oliver is in the right mood (aren’t 2-year-olds fun at times?!), he also enjoys the lights. We’ve had a few gatherings with family earlier in the month of December this year, and Oliver has gotten right into the art of opening presents. He is focused more on shredding the paper and tissue into as many small pieces as he can and seems to care less about what the package actually contains…but we are enjoying this phase while it’s here!

Cribbage sign-ups

Looking for a fun way to pass some time this coming January after the holidays wind down? Sign up in December at the Monroe Country Store to be part of a cribbage tournament! The winner of the tournament will receive a $50 gift certificate to the store. Once the bracket is created, you and your first opponent will agree on a time to meet and play the game at the store.

For more information or to sign up, drop by the store or call 525-3300.

Dog registration

Don’t forget time is ticking down to license your dog(s) at the Monroe Town Hall without having to pay a late fee. The cost to register is $6 per spayed or neutered canine and $11 per canine if not fixed. Please make sure your pups rabies vaccination status is up to date; call the Town Hall at 525-3515 if you’re not sure of your dog’s status. An additional $25 late fee per dog will be charged starting Feb. 1, 2022. The Town Hall accepts cash or checks and is generally open Mondays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.

Have a great week!
