I have most of my Christmas ready, with the exception of the baking and fudge and no-bake cookies. It’s not Christmas until I deliver Tim Ferreira his peanut butter no-bakes! I’ll be taking next week off from the column so I wanted to make sure I wished all my readers a very happy holiday!

The Unity Area Regional Recycling Center will be closed Dec. 24-28 and Dec. 31-Jan. 4 for the holidays.

The Unity Town Office will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

I’ve been having a great time shopping local. Please consider your friends and neighbors by supporting their businesses. I did get the cats some of Crystal’s “giving garland” catnip toys located at the Town Office and Mac’s Hardware. Molly pounces and tosses them in the air, Chet lies on his back with one in his paws and licks them, and Mama Z just plunks herself down on them.

I’m still working on getting the aluminum poles installed for the flashing pedestrian lights by UHOP. I know it’s been a long process with multiple delays.

Dunkin’ on Main Street is now open for business.

Many thanks to all the town employees, committee members, and volunteers for making Unity a wonderful place to call home. Merry Christmas to all the citizens of our little town! I’ll be back next year.
