I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a very merry New Year’s Eve. Dustin and I celebrated very quietly and started the New Year with a champagne toast to the New Year.

For the month of January, bring your returnables to the Depot Store in Unity and say that they are for the Thorndike Park and Rec Committee; all proceeds will be donated to to go to the fund for rebuilding the Marie Gloh Park in Thorndike. Also, there will be 6 cents paid per can/bottle for the entire month of January.

To all the people who enjoy ice fishing, make sure you know the rules and regulations of the body of water that you will be fishing. If you would like a copy of those regulations, please stop by the Thorndike Town Office and pick up a copy before heading out.

Winter is officially here and coming on strong. I hope you are all prepared for what is to come. Have your heating fuel, snow shovel, ice melt, hats and gloves all set for they are needed. Above all, stay warm.

Thank you to Erin French for donating to the Freedom Community Historical Society to help with the restoration of Keen Hall. A very generous gift and Freedom is also my hometown. I was born there and went back and lived there many years.

Stay safe and be very vigilant as the virus is among us and in more forms. I enjoy living out in the country and having lots of clean air to breathe.

If anyone has any news to share, please give me a call.

Mort Sahl is quoted as saying, “Liberals feel unworthy of their possessions. Conservatives feel they deserve everything they’ve stolen.”

Have a great week and please stay safe.
