UNITY — Ellen Louise (Hustus) Norrie, 67, passed away Jan. 22, 2022, in Portland surrounded by her children and siblings.

She was born July 8, 1954, in Plymouth, the daughter of Dalton and Frances (Roberts) Hustus. Ellen attended Mount View High School and after high school, she got married and started her family of two children, whom she had great joy in raising.

Ellen loved her family time and especially enjoyed family gatherings. She also was passionate about singing and even sang on Dick Stacey’s “Country Jamboree,” as well as drawing, karaoke, keeping pet birds and making jewelry. Ellen was a faithful church attendee and loved her time spent at Brooks Pentecostal Church and others.

The last week of her life was spent surrounded by family, which brought her so much enjoyment. She always spoke proudly of her children grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; three siblings, Victor, Timothy, Kevin; nephew Kevin II; and her children’s father, Kenneth Joslin Sr.

Ellen is survived by her loving children, Shelley Spellman and husband David, and Kenneth Joslin Jr. and wife Stephanie of Brewer; siblings Paul Hustus, Debbie Bilger, Joyce Sanborn and husband Perley, Nathan, Edward and Tony Hustus and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren Dustin, Dakota, Christopher, Andrea, Amber, Kasey, Kenneth III, Torianna and Keegan; and great-grandchildren Theo, Samantha and Brooklyn.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Brooks Pentecostal Church, 178 Monroe Highway, Brooks.
