BELFAST — Coastal Mountains Land Trust plans to add a little evening magic to the Belfast Ice Festival by placing luminaries along a section of the Rail Trail Saturday, Feb. 26. Volunteer help is needed!

The Land Trust will have free cookies and hot chocolate at the Belfast footbridge from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A guided excursion along the luminary trail will leave from the footbridge at 6 p.m. Volunteers should bring footwear that correlates to the current conditions: ice grips, snowshoes or cross-country skis, if conditions allow.

The land trust is also looking for volunteers to help make ice luminaries if temperatures are in the freezing range. Anyone interested in making an ice luminary to contribute should contact leaht@coastalmountains.org.
