With the annual town meeting coming up on Saturday, March 12, one of the important issues to be addressed is how the town will spend American Rescue Plan funds. The Southwestern Waldo County Broadband Coalition is working hard to bring better internet to every home and business in town. This will take a lot of time and money.

If you think this is a good idea, please come to the town meeting at Mount View High School at 10 a.m. and make your voice heard. As always, if you want to get involved with the broadband coalition, contact selectman Elaine Higgins.

The Community Development and Advisory Committee has published a survey on the town website, asking for residents’ opinions on what should happen to the 14-acre property behind Freedom General and the Public Works building. You online readers can click here to fill out the survey. The committee has proposed many ideas for economic, commercial and environmental use of the land.
