Hello Monroe!

We base our plans on the weather, and boy, have our plans been all over the place lately! During last Wednesday’s 60-degree heat wave, we were barefoot beneath the warm sunshine with our toes in the sand at Lincolnville Beach, Thursday we bundled up for an adventure to Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor and today we’re hunkered down at home as the snow piles up in plowable amounts, again.

Worth celebrating

Donald and Josie Nickerson were married during a blizzard on Feb. 25, 56 years ago. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this February with another snowstorm!

We are proud of the following Monroe students at Mount View High School for their second quarter academic achievements: high honors, Aiden Tripp and Sawyer Inman; honors, Havannah Bushey, Jillian Jewett, Lily Neville, Madison Oliver, Connor Aitken and Nicholas Finley.

Gesner Park

The planning committee motivated to revitalize the space at Gesner Park is scheduled to meet again on Wednesday, March 9, at 6 p.m. at Town Hall. The committee will be working to finalize a survey designed to solicit input from the community, as well as begin planning fundraising efforts to help uack the improvements financially. All interested in attending are welcome. Contact Ashlie Stubbs at or 592-0336 for more information.
