BUCKSPORT — Mitchell David Harvey, 73, passed away peacefully Friday, March 4, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

Mitchell was born July 6, 1948, to Alonzo and Effie Harvey (Malcolm) in Belfast. He was one of the 16 siblings from “Harveytown.” Mitchell was drafted into the Army for Vietnam in 1968, where he served two years before being honorably discharged.

Upon arrival in the States, he traveled to Iowa, to meet his “My Girl,” Pamela Anderson, who was his pen-pal while he served in Vietnam. They soon married and returned to Maine, where they spent the rest of their lives together. Mitchell had many hobbies, such as logging, working in shingle mills and anything that he could mechanically repair.

Mitchell was predeceased by his wife, Pamela Harvey (Anderson), his parents, Alonzo and Effie Harvey (Malcom), and nine siblings.

He is survived by daughter Sharon Harvey; son David Harvey and wife Julie Harvey and their son, Daniel Harvey, all of Orland; and several adopted children. Mitchell’s surviving siblings are sister Kathi Harvey and her daughter, Vicki Moulton, and husband, and Kathi’s son, John Harvey; brother Mertland Harvey and wife; brother Duane Harvey; sister Gene Harriman and husband; Meldon Harvey and wife; and Darrell Harvey and wife. Mitchell is also survived by a special grandchild, Shyann Harvey; and a special great-niece, Aniyah Harvey; and many other nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be planned for a future date. Arrangements are with Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport.
