BELFAST — Three new deputies have joined the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office. They are Deputies John Shirk, Kyle Masse and Sam Violette.

A graduate of Thomas College, Shirk earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He began his career working for the Biddeford Police Department and most recently was with the Bangor Police Department. Deputy Shirk lives with his family in the Troy area.

Masse most recently was a patrolman with the Belfast Police Department. A resident of Knox, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Unity College.

Also a resident of Knox, Violette is a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He most recently worked for the Bangor Police Department.
