PROSPECT — Peter Ivan Tripp, 67, passed away peacefully Feb. 18, 2022, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was born Oct. 23, 1954, in Frankfort, the son of James A Tripp Sr. and Nellie L.(Clark) Tripp. Peter grew up in Frankfort and lived most of his life there.

Peter worked along side his dad for many years driving machinery and logging trucks. Then he owned and operated his own logging business for some years, and later went into the construction business.

Peter loved to spend his free time outside gardening, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, wave running and boating, all up at their camp on East Grand Lake with his family and friends.

Peter is survived by his wife, the love of his life for 48 years, Lorraine (Brown) Tripp; his loving daughter, Kelly Dakin; and the pride and joy of his life, granddaughters Kateland Dakin and Kendall Walker; siblings  James Tripp Jr. and wife Cynthia, Lawrence Tripp and wife Wendy, Ethelanne Lavin and husband David,  Clarence and wife Debbie, Tony Tripp and wife Sonja; sisters-in-law Linda, Lorraine, Brenda, Susan; 30 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and -nephews; and several great-great-nieces and -nephews; numerous cousins and friends; and a very special friend, Earl Anderson.

Peter also loved going to Mandy’s Store to have coffee and get the local gossip and tell some tales and even some tall tales, if you could believe it. Peter was predeceased by his parents; five brothers, John, Jerry, Carlton, Roger and Alfred Tripp; grandparents; aunts and uncles; cousins; his son-in-law, David Dakin; mother-in-law Marion Hood; and brother-in-law Mark Brown. Peter will forever be missed by everyone who loved him.

A celebration of life will be held later.
