Correction to last week’s column:  The wrong date was put in the notice of Kayla Ingraham’s services.  They are on Saturday, March 26, at 1 p.m., at the Freedom Congregational Church, 45 Pleasant St., Freedom.

Thorndike town meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, beginning at 9 a.m. Voting for all members of the Select Board will be on Friday, March 18, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., at the Thorndike Town Office. There are currently three candidates on the ballot, but there is room for a write-in on each position. The Town Clerk will be in attendance at 8 a.m. so people who are not registered to vote may do so. You must be a Thorndike resident to vote.

A big thank-you to Chris for the chauffeuring that he did one day last week. It is much appreciated. You have earned another 10 dozen cupcakes.

Also, a big thank-you to Merrily for always stepping in and keeping Dustin under control while I am gone. He so loves the time he spends with you. Thank you so much.

A little reminder from our Town Clerk, Rose: Snow is the poor man’s fertilizer. I think we have a little fertilizer on its way.

I want to wish my dear friend, Pearl Nickless, a very happy birthday this week. I must find the perfect birthday card for her.

There must be some goings-on in this town that I do not know about because no one gives me anything to add to this column, except Rose. Thankfully, she sends me something for this column.

Eleanor Roosevelt is quoted as saying, “Friendship with oneself is all-important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else.”

Have a great week and keep both mind and body exercised.
