STOCKTON SPRINGS — The Select Board awarded the bid for heat pumps for the Town Office to SolarLogix Inc., based in Belfast March 17. The firm bid $13,700, after rebates, to put in a four-zone system, according to Town Manager Mac Smith. He said the town would like to have five zones, and will talk with the company about whether it can do that for the $17,500 the town has to spend.

It was decided that Smith will represent the town on the Department of Transportation’s Stakeholder Committee for the proposed offshore wind manufacturing development in Searsport.

In other business, the board authorized Smith to apply for a United Way grant to support the town’s heating assistance fund.

The next meeting will be April 7 at 8 a.m. in the Town Office.
