The Worthington Scholarship Foundation is offering $7 million in scholarships to eligible class of 2022 graduates from 59 high schools, including those in Waldo County, who plan to attend Worthington-eligible colleges or community colleges in Maine.

For students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher attending one of Worthington’s partner four-year colleges, the application deadline is April 15. Students with a GPA of 2.2 or higher attending one of the foundation’s partner community colleges must apply by July 1. Applications are available online at worthingtonscholars.org.

Each award can be up to $16,500 over four years for students attending a four-year partner college, and up to $14,250 to attend both community college and the option of continuing to a four-year college.. The foundation’s goal is to award scholarships to every eligible student in each partner high school.

The foundation also provides mentoring and student support services to Worthington Scholars throughout their college attendance and works with each partner college to help students attain their education goals.

The foundation has a partnership with First National Bank, Machias Savings Bank and Bangor Savings Bank, which provide additional student support and represent the foundation at its partner high schools, colleges, and in the community.
