BELFAST — Last March the Belfast Lions Club and Regional School Unit 71 engaged in a month-long collection effort with the Camden Lions Club and the Camden school district of old, no longer used eye-glasses and cellphones. Many items were collected for recycling and charity throughout the month of March. Several Belfast area schools out-collected the Camden efforts, so Camden asked for a rematch.

The community is asked to help by bringing in and donating through the end of March any old, no longer used eye glasses and cellphones. Collection boxes have been set up at most district schools and at places around Belfast, including one at the Hannaford pharmacy. The contest ends March 31.
