Hello Monroe!

We are ushering in spring around the farm with more hours being spent outside and loving every minute of it. What have you seen for sure signs of the season shifting around your home?

Worth celebrating

Monroe’s Mary Lou Nealley celebrated a milestone birthday in Florida, surrounded by close family and friends. Mary Lou ushered in 90 throwing axes at Axcaliber with Keith, Judy, Laurie, Chris, Ken, Marivi, Nico, Aven, Mackenzie, Shay and Jacie. You are both impressive and inspirational, Mary Lou!

A special happy birthday wish goes out to Kaitlyn (Dolloff) Donahue, who celebrates her 31st birthday on March 29.

Park survey

The Gesner Park Planning Committee has a short survey they are asking Monroe and neighboring community residents to take time and respond to. The deadline to take and submit the survey is April 4. The link to the survey can be found on the Monroe Community Facebook page, or can be sent to you via email. Hard copies of the survey can be delivered, or found at the Monroe Town Hall and Monroe Country Store.

Along with the survey is a cover letter explaining the project thus far, and a template for those willing to write support letters to be submitted with grant applications, with funding to go toward park improvement projects, including a new playground for the children of this town and surrounding communities.

If you would like this information delivered to you, mailed to you or shared electronically, please email your request to or call 592-0336.

In appreciation

The Monroe Select Board would like to thank Fire Chief Ken Clements for posting the town roads…and reposting the signs…multiple times.

Have a great week!
