Employers interested in hiring are invited to attend the Belfast Regional Job & Resource Fair, Tuesday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of Maine – Hutchinson Center, 80 Belmont Ave. in Belfast.
Tables & chairs will be provided, and employers are welcome to set up 9 a.m. The event is free to employers, but reservations are required. Register and reserve a spot by emailing David Grima at the Maine Department of Labor, david.m.grima@maine.gov
Starting at 10 a.m., anyone looking for work may attend this free event. Laid-off workers from the Penobscot McCrum factory are being invited, but anyone looking for employment in the region is welcome. Organizers anticipate the following employers to be in attendance: Mathews Brothers, Robbins Lumber, Waldo County General Hospital, Viking Lumber, Ferraiolo Construction, C&L Aviation, RSU 71, Sweetser, and many more. There are positions open in many different fields.
In addition to job opportunities, the event will also provide information and resources for rent relief, fuel assistance, job training, and emergency services. Waldo Community Action Partners, Goodwill Workforce Solutions and the Maine Career Center will be on site to provide information about available programs and resources.
