The crocuses are blooming in my garden and on Main Street. The peepers below me in the vernal pool are also singing away. Several days this past week have been sunny and fairly mild – good for cleaning up the yard.

There is a groundhog that lives below me and yesterday it was gathering dried grass in its mouth and stuffing the grass in another hole nearby. Maybe there will be baby groundhogs soon?

The rig for putting moorings in for the summer is now in the harbor as the boaters get ready for another season. A crescent moon is hanging over the harbor on clear nights.

Earth Day will be Friday, April 22 and there are usually lots of outdoor activities planned for that day.

Everybody is really ready for the warmer weather and for the trees to unfold their new pale green leaves. Enjoy the mild spring days!

Thought for the week: “Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you.” – Walt Whitman.
