SEARSPORT — Donald Henry Resh died March 30, 2022. Born Nov. 1, 1953, to Lester and Doretta Resh, Don was an 11th Bravo Army veteran. He was proud of his time in the service and spoke of  it fondly. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He believed in strong family ties, and after losing his father in 1982 he stayed close to his mother and helped take care of her and the family estate.

He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends hunting, fishing, yard saleing and more. Some of his fondest memories were of playing softball with his family and friends at Friendship Park.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Resh; son Donald Resh Jr,; his six grandkids, Charles, Donnie III, Cyrus, Madison, Stephanie and Gabrielle Resh, all of Searsport; as well as his mother-in-law, Donna Keller, of Swanville; in-laws Clifton and Patty Larrabee of Swanville, Edythe and Arthur Gray of Orland, Sharon and Gene Kelley of Monroe, Diane and Bob Biolata of Swanville, Faye and Steve Warman of Belfast; and his beloved dogs, Sage and Max.

He is now in heaven with his mom and dad, as well as his brothers Lester W. Resh Jr and Robert Resh, and his son Charles W. Resh.

A celebration of life barbecue and a bonfire at the end of the night will be held June 18 starting at noon at the family estate. Don requested that any donations be made to the Cancer Center in Brewer. Arrangements are with Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Searsport.
