NORTHPORT — Linda A. Bassano, 69, died peacefully Dec. 21, 2021, in Rockport.

Born March 12, 1952, in Camden, N.J., Linda had a long and distinguished career as an antiques dealer — moving from Philadelphia to her new home in Maine (with her black Lab, Brandy) and, along with her late husband Vito Peragine, building one of the largest collection of antiques in the state.

Upon her death, Linda owned and operated Blue Dolphin Antiques in Northport.

In addition to antiques, Linda loved cooking, especially cheesesteaks — she loved to reminisce about standing in line as a child at Al’s Sandwich Shop in Philadelphia, Pa. — meeting new people, and spending time with friends.

She often referred to her close friends as angels — each one playing an important role in her life. And, of course, Linda loved her dogs, whom she called her “shop greeters.”

Linda is survived by her husband, Chris Worth of Northport; her son, Ronnie of Brewer; and her puppies Bentley and Bella. Linda was and still is a great inspiration, walking through life with a fearless abandon.

“Give her, o Lord, your peace and let your eternal light shine upon her.”

Blue Dolphin Antiques will be open this spring, in honor of Linda and Vito.
