Do not forget to support the Dirigo Grange’s bake sale, Saturday, May 7, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Grange Hall in Freedom Village. There will be assorted homemade baked goods for sale.

There will be a PFAS town hall, featuring Erin Brockovich, Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. at the Unity Fire Station. This is a problem that is affecting many of us.  It should be both interesting and informational.                                                                                                                                                                           There will be a Lyme Disease presentation Monday, May 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m. live online via Zoom. Learn the symptoms, diagnosis, treatments and prevention of this potentially debilitating disease. The fee is $10, and participants may come into the Mount View High School to view the presentation or go online at the location of your choice. To register, call 568-3426 or email adulted@rsu3.org.

here will be a fundraiser for the Open Door Lunch Program Saturday, May 14, 9 a.m. til noon at their Depot Street, Unity, location. There will be pies at $10 each, raffles, gift cards and homemade items, along with cookbooks for sale. The raffle tickets will be $1 each or $5 for six tickets. Come out and support this lunch program and have some fun, too.

American Legion Post 50 is seeking participants for the Memorial Day Parade in Unity on Monday, May 30. Participants will meet at the Unity Town Office at 8:30 a.m. for a 9 a.m. parade start. The parade will march to Pond Cemetery and back. If interested in attending or participating, just show up. If you have any questions, please call Randall Parker at 323-3412.

Papa Dixon had a visit with Dustin one day this week. I was grocery shopping, so Dustin was glad to have some company while I was gone.

The Garden Variety and the Farwell Museum will be opening soon, May 13, for the season. Always interesting to wander around in Farwell’s. I used to wander around in there when I was growing up in Thorndike.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers. May you all have a fantastic Mother’s Day.
