BELFAST — A Belfast woman was arrested Friday, May 6, charged with striking a bicyclist on Route 1 and leaving the scene of the crash.
Tiffany Hart, 34, was arrested following a two-day investigation by the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, the department announced. Hart was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for its help locating the suspect.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle did not stop after hitting the bicyclist on Route 1 in Lincolnville and continued traveling south toward Camden. Deputies on scene recovered the passenger side mirror from the vehicle and identified it as belonging to a dark green Ford Explorer, specifically a 2016-2019 Ford Explorer.
The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. May 4.
The bicyclist, a woman from Northport, was taken to Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast where she was treated and released.
