SEARSPORT — Helen Annalee (King) Haynes, 95, of Searsport died May 6, 2022, at Tall Pines in Belfast. Helen was born on Sept. 30, 1926, in Portage Lake to the late Olive (Clark) King and George W. King.

Helen married Harry Herman Nickerson Jr. in August 1945. Together, they had four children, Bradford, Bruce, Kathleen and Mark. Helen later married John Haynes and together they had a son, John Peter.

Helen was a woman of great faith and enjoyed attending services at the Kingdom Hall and later listening in over the phone. She enjoyed singing and dancing and was always upbeat. She was a fixture at local thrift stores, and loved gifting clothing to people. She was strong, kind, social and generous.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, George and Olive; her first husband, Harry; her second husband, John; her son, Bradford Scott Nickerson, who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1966; and her siblings, Ancel R. King, George W. King, Warren O. King, James Leon King, Melvin E. King, Margaret Wood, Lillian E. King and Christina Manning.

Helen is survived by her siblings, Steve King and Myrtle Judge; her children, Bruce Nickerson, Kathleen Whippen and her husband Roy, Mark Nickerson and his wife Anna, and John Noomyenooneam and his partner Kira; a daughter-in-law, Mary Barker; her grandchildren, Brad Nickerson, Brian Nickerson, Rebecca Nickerson, Amanda Nickerson Skaggs, Victoria Nickerson, Nacoma Noomyenooneam, Sophie Noomyenooneam and Alex Noomyenooneam; several great grandchildren, and many cherished extended family members and dear friends.

At Helen’s request there will be no service. She will be buried in Mount Prospect Cemetery in Stockton Springs, near her son.
