Hello All,

Oh how nice it is to have some nice warm weather. Flowers are budded, flowering bushes are blossomed out, and the birds are singing. Grass just got mowed. I couldn’t get any dandelion greens sadly. Lovely spring days. I hope you are enjoying them, too. Get well for those who are sick.

Farm equipment

I have noticed that the old Ingraham Equipment seems to be more active with equipment arriving. Must be a sure sign of spring.

Of course I have also noticed that Ingraham Gold Top Farm is spreading manure and the smell drifts down here in the valley. Yep, thanks, guys. Haha, yeah you, too, Mike.

Newborns

On May 10, 2022, Brooke and Austin Neil Higgins welcomed newborn son Ryan Bradley Higgins, weighing 4 lbs. 11 oz, 17.5 inches long. Big brother is James Michael. Congrats to all.

On May 8, 2022, Aaron and Cassie Cross welcomed newborn son Jonathan Virgil Travis Cross, weighing 9 lbs. 5 oz.

Congrats to all.

Montville Historical Society

A meeting was held on May 9. Debi, president, tells me they plan to do a book on Montville families and history on Frye Mountain. Heidi is still working on the CD part of Frye Mountain horse tours and history. Hoping she gets it finished very soon. Debi is looking for a picture of Roy Hatch, and any other pictures of family members to copy. Any memories you might wish to share.

Also a picture of Cloud Getchell, a young girl who died and is buried in a lone grave on Frye. Dee Dee Doughty puts flowers on her grave every year, by the way. She had marked it with a white fence, but someone stole it. Also any other pictures of the Getchell families. Dee is also looking for a picture of Ada Stewart Thompson, wife of Walter Thompson, George Avery’s daughter.

If you have any pictures that you would be willing to let be copied, please contact Barbara Boulay at 589-4414. Or myself at 382-6783. This would be most appreciated. What better way to get your families included? History is important. Dee stopped by today; she was out at the cemeteries taking pictures of the stones, and putting flowers on them.

Returning

The Olde Tyme Radio Hour at Mount View High School on May 19, 7 p.m. at CPAC.The top 10 seniors were announced recently and Eric Braley was No. 8. Congrats to him and all the others, too.

Lunch date

I met up with an old schoolmate from Freedom Academy back in the ’50s, Charlie Fleming of Florida, who lived in Maine as a youngster. Lunch at Mammie’s was very good, and great to see him. He is in Maine for a couple of weeks, staying with another friend, Judy in Windham. Sister to Joan Hamlin-Chapin. Always nice to see old friends.

Gas prices

At Hilltop last I looked $4.46 for regular.

Birthdays

Happy birthday to Ali Doughty May 21. Happy 3rd birthday to Ethan Doughty May 26.
