Hope you all have a lovely Memorial Day Weekend in whatever you do — fishing, opening camp, or watching a local parade. Monroe will be having a Memorial Day parade at 11 a.m. And I hope it is warm! I will admit it, I broke down and started the wood stove back up today. I just couldn’t get the chill out of this big ole farmhouse. If you see my parents out and about on May 29, be sure to wish Bill and Kathleen a happy 60th wedding anniversary!

There’s another set of free COVID test kits available from the government. It is a quick process to request eight of them. Go to this website: covid.gov/tests. It’s free for the tests and free shipping. And you probably heard that Ralph’s Cafe was closed a couple of weekends ago because of a bunch of cases. Let’s be safe, share the love — not the bug!

Jackson Veterans Memorial

There will be a Memorial Day ceremony, with prayer and music, at the Jackson Veterans Memorial at the Town Office Complex on Route 7. This will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, at 9:45 a.m. You may have noticed our roadside flags are up on the poles along Route 7.
