Well, a beautiful sunshiny day. Enjoy the fresh strawberries and beet greens and more that’s ready. Find a farm stand nearby. So good to see the Suitor Road in town tarred and Kenny Road, too.

Anniversary

Congrats to Tisha and Allen Downer on their 64th anniversary!!! May they have many more.

Appeals Board

The  Appeals Board will meet at the Town House on July 7 at 6 p.m.

Farm Stand

Curra’s Farm Stand in town has opened as of June 22. Open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. It’s summer, get some berries and veggies.

Fourth of July weekend

The Brooks Rec Department will have a Chicken Barbecue at noon and fireworks at dark on Saturday, July 2. Tickets available at Town office.

Parade 10 a.m. Monday, July 4. Line up at 9 a.m. Varney folks have muffins and coffee for sale before the parade.

Visited

Gabe came by Friday, and he got to spend time with the Doughty family in Winslow. Nice to see him.

Reminder: Benefit Supper

On Wednesday, June 29, 4-7 p.m. at Lori’s Cafe for the Millers.

Off to Down South

Mike and Tanya, and Eric Braley along with Shauna Randall, went to Atlanta, Georgia, for a week. This was for Eric’s SkillsUSA competition. He was tops in Maine and competing at Nationals against the best of each state. He placed 9th in his competition. Congrats, Eric!!

Update

Cousin Ron McDonald is still at Gray Birch rehab in Augusta. I hear plans are for him to go to Maine Vets Home in Augusta next, when a room is available.
