SEARSPORT — Penobscot Marine Museum will hold free children’s programs, with admission, on Wednesdays throughout July. Junior Adventurers starts July 6 and runs every Wednesday through July 27. Families may drop in anytime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on those days to participate.

Families will discover Penobscot Marine Museum’s campus through stories, crafts, games, and special tours of the exhibits. These weekly programs are designed for children and their families to have fun at the museum. Each program will explore a different topic and include a craft to take home.

Penobscot Marine Museum brings Maine’s maritime history to life on a campus of beautiful historic buildings in the seacoast village of Searsport. Exhibits throughout the campus tell unique stories of ship captains and their families, the industries of Penobscot Bay, global maritime trade, and today’s fisheries. In addition to exhibits, Penobscot Marine Museum has over 300,000 historic photographs, an extensive collection of maritime artifacts and archives, and a maritime history research library.
