SEARSPORT — Hundreds of people gathered along Route 1 in Searsport for the Fourth of July parade. People lined a section of downtown for nearly half a mile while police closed the road down for roughly a half hour for the event.

There were dozens of adults decked out in patriotic cloths and paraphernalia, while children dove for candy and waved at people driving by in floats.
