It was hard not to gasp, then fall over backwards laughing when reading Sam Patten’s column of July 7 regarding incivility.
While there is no question that incivility has become the new normal, does Mr. Patten not realize that, as a Trump supporter and attending one of Donald Trump’s inaugural balls, he is actually an enabler of this incivility? And incivility seems the least of the problem given the violence, hate and promotion of assault weapons that seems to spew from Republicans and their supporters at every turn.
So whine on, Mr. Patten, about the very small taste of your own medicine that you received, probably from another Trump supporter. Try being female, gay, minority, Jewish, Muslim or an election worker to get a real taste of incivility, along with a few death threats and mass shootings.
