Hello All,

Another nice week has rolled on by, and we even got much needed rain, too. I spent a couple of days in Winslow with Wayne, Laura and family. Everyone was working and busy there. David is playing summer soccer. Got to see baby Karson, he’s so cute. Growing like a weed.

A Chicken Barbecue at the Post 50 Legion Hall in Unity on Saturday, Aug. 13, noon. A Yard Sale by the Ladies Auxiliary starting at 11 a.m. Be early; the chicken has been known to sell out. The Legionnaires installed the new post sign Saturday at the entrance of Windemere Lane by routes 202/9. It looks very nice.

Dirigo Grange, Freedom Grange will host a Chicken Barbecue on Sunday, July 24, at noon. Half a chicken, coleslaw, roll, chips, water and brownie. $12. Support your local groups, the fundraising helps keep them open and active.

Barrel racing

Who loves barrel racing on her mare more than Lily Parsons, granddaughter of Holly and George Ingraham of town. Lily attended an IBRA show recently. She took home the entire ID: first, second and third places for open barrels, and first in ID single pole. Took the whole ID in open with a time of 15.9. Way to go Lily !

Florida friends

Jan and Robert Smith went to Bar Harbor Sunday for a whale watching trip. They saw four whales. They enjoyed lunch at the Shipyard. Happy birthday, Robert !

Get some cauliflower, green beans, potatoes, cucumbers, Swiss chard and kale greens, lettuce and broccoli that’s ready to eat. Yummy. My potted tomato and cucumber plants are doing OK.

Until next week,

I hope everyone is having a good summer. Feel better if you have been sick. Be safe and BE KIND. Pay it forward if you can, I did.
