Was good to hear Unity Raceway-The Rebuild open for races. More cars on Aug. 14. And Flat Track Motorcycles race is Aug. 13, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. turning laps, races 2-4 p.m.

Coming up Aug. 13, 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Come meet your classmates, and teachers of Mount View High School at Front Street Pub in Belfast.
Freedom Field Day
Join in with the parade on Aug. 20. Theme: “Celebrating Freedom.” Lineup 9 a.m., starts at 10 a.m. Boat Parade on Freedom Pond at 11 a.m. Chicken barbecue at noon by Freedom Fire Department. Crafters and vendors, games for kids and more.
Montville Field Day
Aug. 13. The Montville Fire Department and Rescue will hold a Chinese auction and lottery tickle raffle at 11 a.m., drawing at 3 p.m. Chicken barbecue and games and music for all. Montville Historical Society will be selling plants and having an open house at the Kingdom Schoolhouse same day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Unity Legion barbecue
The American Legion’s chicken barbecue is Aug. 13 at noon; Ladies Auxiliary’s yard sale begins at 11 a.m.
Sympathy
Condolences to the family of Martha Perkins who passed away at 90 years. And to the family of Mavis Sargent Bither who passed recently. Thinking of them all.
Concert time
Robert and Jan Smith were in Bangor for the Jimmy Buffett concert. They are coming along good on the cabin renovating, by the way.
Lupine Cottage
Our nearby neighbor Margaret Massesa has developed an excellent product for sale. An all natural insect repellent and also after-bite product, “Rid the Itch.” Way to go, as we need these products for sure. Her cottage (shop) is in Belfast.
Troy Fire Department Open House
Wednesday, Aug. 17, 6:30 p.m. Hotdogs and chips on the house, thanks to the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Get a picture with the fire truck.
