Hello All,

We have had some good weather this past week. Lower temperatures to our liking.

Sympathy

Our condolences to the Perkins family here in town and others. “Buzzy” Linwood Perkins Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday. May he rest in peace.

Birthday and party

Happy birthday to David Doughty on Aug. 12! On Sunday a family and friends gathering was held at his home in Winslow. Fun was had by all. The younger group had fun in the pool. Everyone enjoyed the barbecue and cake and ice cream. We left happy to have been together.

Lobsters from Aaron

Aaron Reed has lobsters and he is on Facebook. I have his phone number but won’t post it. Get some in Unity, as he is down past the Raceway.

Congrats

Cooper Wren was at the USATF Youth State meet which was held at Cony High School on Saturday. He is on the Sebasticook Valley Striders team. He got 1st in boys 13/14 shot put, and his friend Jacob was 1st in discus, and 3rd in shot put. Way to go, boys!!

Farwell Project benefit

A barn sale to benefit the Farwell Project in Thorndike begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, featuring antiques and oddities donated by the community. A round-trip train ride to Unity will leave Farwell’s at 2 p.m.; $25 includes train fare, ice cream and snacks. A 14-foot day sailor raffle will conclude at 4 p.m.; tickets are $5 and sales are limited to 150 tickets.

The Farwell Project is a nonprofit restoration of four historic buildings in Thorndike Village. FMI: thorndikemill.org.

Until next week, Be Kind and be safe. Enjoy the sweet corn and blueberries. The farm stands have many things ready to buy.

If you’re searching for that one person who will change your life, just take a look in the mirror.
