I am what you might call an independent voter. I look into as many candidates as possible and and decide which upholds the values and needs of our town, state, and country as I do, be they Republican or Democrat. However, I have to admit I haven’t voted for a Democrat in 30 years and have regret for some Republicans I have.

This year’s midterms, however, will be the easiest for me. After seeing the economic destruction among many things that made life harder for working Maine citizens that Janet Mills has done, not to mention, say, Jan Dodge’s direct attack on parental rights by sponsoring LD 864. A bill that will prohibit parents from being able to see or take part in what is being taught to our children. And if caught  exercising their civil right will be fined $200 to $500.

On the other hand, even though he is not from my district, Steven Hemenway is a true advocate of parental rights as well as the freedoms given and assured by the Constitution and Bill of Rights. For those of you interested in what is actually happening in our schools, endorsed by our state governor, and who is funding it, Google Shawn McBreairty and watch his podcasts.

I feel this is time to rid our state, as well as our country, of those who want to take our rights, freedoms and livelihoods away from us. I can’t see or understand how a Democrat who’s lived with these freedoms could vote any other way.
