Good news

The Amish Community Market and Bakery announced that they received the needed permits from the State Fire Marshal’s Office. They can now proceed with the porch and bakery plans to rebuild those. The target date to open is Sept. 23. Congrats to them as many people are eagerly awaiting the opening again. I saw the porch being built when I passed by.

The next building over you can get veggies, berries and jams among other things on Wednesday, Friday and  Saturday only.

Where’s Charlie?

Charlie Picard, formerly of Unity, who has been living with his daughter Patti Picard and family in Michigan, has moved. He moved, but not far to the Villages of Westland Senior Living to his studio apartment. He likes it there. I missed his messenger call to me. Glad to hear he’s happy. He sees our classmate, Linda Ingraham Seng, quite frequently as well. It’s nice to stay in touch with Facebook.

Bear hunting, anyone?

Jon Beckett of town is at his camp for bear hunting. He has openings for anyone interested in going along.

The Crown of Maine Festival is up North Aug. 25-28. Sounds like it could be fun.

Interesting tidbit

The Katahadin Steamboat in Greenville on Moosehead Lake is 108 years old. It was first around on Aug. 20, 1914. It has been refurbished. It is a fun two-hour cruise.

Artist at work

Kerry Parker has three pieces of her art at the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell on display. She has sold a piece. She also has a book for sale.

Until next week,

Be kind! Be safe. Hugs. Feel better to those that are sick. Watch out for scams, there are many on the phone and online. Get your fill of fresh veggies, I sure am.

Everybody wants happiness. Nobody wants pain, but you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain.
