Hello All,

The sun is shining, what more can we ask for, a nice day. Nice to see all the birds at the feeder. Been seeing deer, and turkeys in our travels. Thankful to avoid those popping into the roadway. It’s nearing fall, they tell me. Fairs are upcoming, Clinton and Windsor. That reminds me of fall for sure!

Donating items

Our high school teacher, the late George Merry, has a niece Sylvia that is mailing me things of his, and photos for the Freedom Historical Society. Will be displayed at the Keen House, when building is completed, Freedom Academy mementos. I will take to Myrick Cross for safe keeping. Most appreciated.

Newlyweds

Congrats to Adam and Macaela Reed! Congrats to James and Whitney Philbrick! May they have many years together.

Sympathy
Word was received that longtime resident, formerly of town, Leon Riley passed away on Aug. 22. He was living in Georgia, and still had property on Route 137 in town. He will be missed by his son and family.

Sympathy to Shannon Eversen and family in the loss of her husband Roger, and on the loss of her mother.

Sympathy in the loss of Donna Clark, wife of “Teddy” Edwin Clark and family.

Get well

Wishing good vibes to grandson David to get better from his knee injury at soccer practice. He will miss his soccer time for sure. Hoping it’s not too serious. Get better soon, we all love you.

Awareness training soon

On  Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. at SnowDusters Clubhouse in Unity will be Narcan Training and Awareness Session with Vicky Witham and the Zachary Project Team will be speaking (addiction awareness) and demonstrating how to use Narcan from 6 to 7 p.m. Free Narcan to take home. Stop the Stigma. With the time delay for calls this could save someone’s life.

Birthdays

Happy 90th birthday to neighbor Don Orff! Happy 99th birthday to Stan Wood! Happy 7th birthday to Kameron Doughty on Sept. 2! A belated happy birthday to Heather Merrifield!

Joy Valley Riders

The next Game Show is on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 9 a.m. at the ring on Abbott Road here in town. All welcome.

Schools opening

College kids are back to school. Good luck with your studies. And soon the K-12 will be back by the time you read this. Be aware, stop for school buses. Stay off the cellphones. Watch out for kids. Keep all safe.

Words for the wise
Three things you cannot recover in life, the word after it’s said, the moment after it’s missed, and the time after it’s gone.

Until next time,

Enjoy the nice days ahead. Have fun at the fair. School shopping is a thing now. Be KIND!
