The high school golf season continued to chug along at a breakneck pace with teams in action on the links on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Aug. 30-Sept. 2.

On Aug. 30, Oceanside of Rockland drove, chipped and putted to a win over Medomak Valley of Waldoboro, while Mount View of Thorndike was upended by Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

The action continued on Thursday, Sept. 1 as Oceanside bested Lincoln Academy of Newcastle, while Camden Hills and Mount View were downed by Messalonskee of Oakland and Nokomis of Newport.

On Friday, Sept. 2, Belfast also emerged with a victory over Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

The golfer or golfers with the lowest nine-hole scores in each match earn medalist honors. Teams can play with six golfers as the low four scores count toward the team’s nine-hole stroke total. The team with the lowest four-golfer stroke total gains three points and each individual match is worth one point (or half if a match is tied).

Belfast 8, Maine Central Institute 1

At Northport Golf Club Sept. 2, the Lions roared past the Huskies with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 180 to 201.

The individual results, with Belfast golfers listed first, were: James Ritter (39) beat Joe Parker (42), Caden Nickerson (47) lost to Owen Moore (42), K.J. Payson (45) beat Jillian Plamondon (58), Hagen Chase (60) beat Noley Littlefield (64), Zach Sanderson (59) beat Carter Kennedy (59) and Gary Gale (49) beat Heidi Dechaine (65).

Ritter’s 39 earned him medalist honors.

Oceanside 5.5, Lincoln Academy 3.5

At Rockland Golf Club Sept. 1, the Mariners narrowly edged the Eagles in a tightly-contested match. Oceanside prevailed by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 188 to 191 for Lincoln Academy.

The individual results, with Oceanside golfers listed first, were: Noah McLellan (40) lost to Kellen Adickes (36), 3+1; Bryson Mattox (50) halved with Sebastian Chesebro (50); Levi Philbrook (52) lost to Damon Ellinwood (48), 2-down; Parker Darge (58) lost to Brandon Kelsey (57), 2+1; Josiah Danforth (55) beat Grady Burns (81), 5+3; and Rhys Jones (46) beat Gabe Hanley (70), 5+4.

Adickes carded 36 to collect medalist honors.

Messalonskee 6, Camden Hills 3

At Belgrade Lakes Golf Course Sept. 1, the Windjammers were dealt their first loss of the campaign, this against the host Eagles. Messalonskee prevailed by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 171 to 190 for Camden Hills.

The individual results, with Camden Hills golfers listed first, were: Jack Edgar (52) lost to Jacob Moody (35), Aiden Aselton (45) lost to Brady Bumford (41), Evan Kimble (50) lost to Garrett Giguere (46), Micah Fagonde (49) beat Jack Darling (59), Walter Field (46) beat Matt Fulling (49) and Garrett Hall (56) beat Logan DeRaps (70).

Moody fired 35 as medalist.

Nokomis 8.5, Mount View 0.5

At Country View Golf Course in Brooks Sept. 1, the Warriors swung past the host Mustangs. Nokomis earned a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 179, while Mount View did not have the required four golfers to score as a team.

Mount View was led by Garrett Fowler (68), Evan Aspinall (61) and Jonas Holmes (72), while Nokomis was buoyed on the links by Alex Grant (39), S.J. Welch (39), Nathaniel Smestad (49), Owen Buck (58), Hunter Goodblood (59) and Jadin Ireland (52).

Grant and Welch shot 39 to nab co-medalist honors.

Oceanside 9, Medomak Valley 0

At Rockland Golf Club Aug. 30, the Mariners sailed past the Panthers in a matchup of squads that share the same home course. Oceanside prevailed by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 187 to 226 for Medomak Valley.

Maine Central Institute 9, Mount View 0

At Country View Golf Course in Brooks Aug. 30, the Huskies prowled past the undermanned ‘Stangs. MCI fired a four-golfer, stroke total of 177, while Mount View did not have the required four golfers to score as a team.

Garrett Fowler (92), Evan Aspinall (81) and Jonas Holmes (69) led the way for Mount View, while MCI was paced by Owen Moore (39), Joseph Parker (41), Jillian Plamondon (47), Noley Littlefield (57), Carter Kennedy (60) and Heidi Dechaine (60).

Moore was the medalist as he carded 39.
