SEARSPORT — The Strung Together Old Time/Bluegrass Music Jam Campout takes place Friday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 18, at Searsport Shores Ocean Campground, 216 West Main St. Come play, take some workshops, enjoy the concerts, eat some fantastic food and hang with great people!

This year the talent pool includes the remarkable Skip Gorman, a man of many hats, including one labeled cowboy/western swing. Or perhaps you need an elixir of old time banjo? Then Fred Coon is your man. Skip and Fred are instructors and the headline performers on Friday night, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Ed Howe will delight attendees with his wonderful fiddle style Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. Come play at the Coffee House Concert Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

Gus La Casse and Mathias Kamen team up for a high flying, old time music performance on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

Local violin maker Linden Frederick will appear as the Showcase Luthier at this fall’s Old Time and Bluegrass.

Jam leaders are Jim Burke, George Fowler, Art Bryant, Jeff Titon, Bob Smith, Jon Kerr, James Hyland, Michael & Suzi and more.

The general admission ticket fee includes admission for Friday, Saturday and Sunday to all jam spaces, performances and community fire rings, along with any other activities that may pop up.

The donation helps to cover the costs of teachers, jam leaders, staff, tents, pizza party, and cleaning of bathrooms. Extra monies will be used for musician scholarships and to help fund the Makers Guild instrument/fiber tool lending project.

Suggested donation for the weekend is $75 – not including camping, special workshops, lunch or private lessons. Workshops are a suggested $50 donation.
