It has been a rough few days on the links for area high school golf teams.

On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Camden Hills of Rockport and Oceanside of Rockland were downed by Brunswick and Leavitt of Turner in road matches, while Medomak Valley of Waldoboro and Mount View of Thorndike lost to Morse of Bath and Lawrence of Fairfield in home matches.

Additionally, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, Belfast swung past Lawrence of Fairfield. The action continued on Thursday, Sept. 8 as Camden Hills and Medomak Valley fell to Mount Ararat of Topsham and Leavitt of Turner.

On Friday, Sept. 9, Medomak Valley fell to Lincoln Academy of Newcastle, as did Mount View to Nokomis of Newport.

Back on the links on Monday, Sept, 12, Camden Hills, Oceanside and Belfast collected wins as the Windjammers earned a split with Mount Ararat of Topsham and Messalonskee of Oakland in a tri-match, while Oceanside defeated Morse of Bath and Belfast bested Nokomis of Newport.

The golfer or golfers with the lowest nine-hole scores in each match earn medalist honors. Teams can play with six golfers as the low four scores count toward the team’s nine-hole stroke total. The team with the lowest four-golfer stroke total gains three points and each individual match is worth one point (or half if a match is tied).

Camden Hills 5, Mount Ararat 4; Messalonskee 8, Camden Hills 1

At Brunswick Golf Course Sept. 12, the Windjammers earned a split  in a tri-match with Mount Ararat and Messalonskee. The Windjammers earned a 5-4 win over Mount Ararat as they prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 186-189, while they fell 8-1 to Messalonskee by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 175-186.

The individual results, with Camden Hills golfers listed first, Mount Ararat second and Messalonskee third, were: Jack Edgar (44) lost to Sam Betz (41) and Jacob Moody (37); Aiden Aselton (54) lost to Noah Cook (49) and Brady Bumford (45); Micah Fagonde (46) beat Kyle Ingalis (50) and lost to Jacob Love (46); Wilson Fedarko (42) beat Isaac Wheeler (52) and Jack Darling (52); Owen Berez (61) lost to Peter Dube (49) and Garrett Giguere (47); and Zanni Sabatini (54) lost to Kai Stockford (54) and Ryan Flewelling (51).

Moody carded 37 to earn medalist honors.

Belfast 6, Nokomis 3

At Northport Golf Club Sept. 12, the Lions bested the visiting Warriors. Belfast prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 169 to 173 for Nokomis.

The individual results, with Belfast golfers listed first, were: James Ritter (35) beat Alex Grant (38), Caden Nickerson (41) lost to S.J. Welch (38), K.J. Payson (56) lost to Daegan Trafton (44), Hagen Chase (58) lost to Owen Buck (53), Zach Sanderson (42) beat Hunter Goodblood (55) and Gary Gale (51) beat Amber Scholteu (60).

Ritter carded 35 to nab medalist honors.

Lincoln Academy 8, Medomak Valley 1

At Rockland Golf Club Sept. 12, the Eagles bested the Panthers for the second match in a row. Lincoln Academy prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 179 to 194 for Medomak Valley.

The individual results, with Medomak Valley golfers listed first, were: Tyler Metcalf (38) lost to Kellen Adickes (34), 2+1; Logan Look (50) lost to Damon Ellingwood (43), 3+2; Taj Lichti (52) lost to Sebastian Chesebro (48), 3+1; Griffin Holgerson (54) halved with Brandon Kelsay (54); Aiden Abbotoni (60) halved with Grady Burns (61); and Cole Winchenbach (69) lost to Cam MaCloud (69), 1-down.

Adickes shot 34 and medaled for Lincoln Academy.

Oceanside 6, Morse 3

At Bath Country Club Sept. 12, the Mariners sailed past the host Shipbuilders. Oceanside prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 183 to 199 for Morse.

The individual results, with Oceanside golfers listed first, were: Noah McLellan (44) halved with Caleb Harvey (47); Bryson Mattox (45) beat Max Owen (54), 2+1; Rhys Jones (45) halved with Johnny Johnston (45); Parker Darge (49) beat Oscar Nelson (53), 4+3; and Josiah Danforth (score unavailable) lost to Tuck Mercer (54), 2+1.

McLellan earned medalist honors with 44.

Lincoln Academy 8, Medomak Valley 1

At Wawenock Golf Club in Walpole Sept. 9, the Eagles drove, chipped and putted past the Panthers. Lincoln Academy won with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 180 to 212 for Medomak Valley.

Nokomis 9, Mount View 0

At Fogg Brook Golf Course in Palmyra Sept. 9, the Warriors collected a victory over the Mustangs. Nokomis fired a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 174, while Mount View did not have the required four golfers to score as a team.

Evan Aspinall (65), Garrett Fowler (67) and Jonas Holmes (68) led Mount View, while Alex Grant (41), S.J. Welch (39), Nathaniel Smestad (49), Hunter Goodblood (54), Owen Buck (38) and Daegan Trafton (46) paced Nokomis.

Welch shot 39 to earn medalist honors.

Mount Ararat 6, Camden Hills 3

At Megunticook Golf Club in Rockport Sept. 8, the Eagles edged the Windjammers. Mount Ararat prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 191 to 197 for Camden Hills.

At Turner Highlands Golf Course Sept. 8, the Hornets continued their hot start with a win over the Panthers. Leavitt prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 155 to 230 for Medomak Valley.

At Clinton Golf Course Sept. 7, the Lions roared past the Bulldogs. Belfast prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 187 to 199 for Lawrence.

The individual results, with Belfast golfers listed first, were: James Ritter (42) beat Matt Quigley (46), Caden Nickerson (47) lost to Caleb Luckern (49), K.J. Payson (51) beat Broden Eaton (53), Hagen Chase (66) lost to Ryan Brown (51), Zach Sanderson (50) beat Liz Holden (57) and Gary Gale (48) beat Anderson Buck (72).

Brunswick 9, Camden Hills 0

At Brunswick Golf Course Sept. 6, the Dragons breathed  fire on the Windjammers and emerged with a victory on the links. Brunswick prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 151 to 186 for Camden Hills.

The individual results, with Camden Hills golfers listed first, were: Aidan Aselton (45) lost to Austin Stromick (37), Walter Field (57) lost to Will Farschon (39), Jack Edgar (44) lost to Charlie Austin (38), Evan Kimble (52) lost to Ayden Marini (41), Garrett Hall (55) lost to Garrett Countway (38) and Micah Fagonde (45) lost to Brayden Grant (38).

Leavitt 8, Oceanside 1

At Rockland Golf Club Sept. 6, the Shipbuilders emerged victorious over the Panthers. Morse prevailed with a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 200 to 229 for Medomak Valley.

Lawrence 9, Mount View 0

At Country View Golf Course in Brooks Sept. 6, the Bulldogs took a bite out of the undermanned Mustangs. Lawrence carded a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 189, while Mount View did not have enough golfers to score as a team.

Evan Aspinall shot 65 and Garrett Fowler and Jonas Holmes 72 to pace Mount View, while Matt Quigley (43), Caleb Luckern (47), Broden Eaton (51), Ryan Brown (48), Liz Holden (64) and Anderson Buck (72) keyed Lawrence.

Quigley’s 43 earned medalist accolades.
