BELFAST – The first annual Belfast Lions Boosters Club Cornhole Tournament has been set for Saturday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. on the Belfast Area High School football field.
The format is a two-person team, double-elimination tournament. Bags will be available for those who need them.
In the instance of rain, the event will be moved to the gymnasium in the high school.
The tourney is set up with divisions, and registration fees are based on division.
The youth division, for participants up to eighth grade, is free. There is limit of 16 teams and this division will be a single-elimination format.
The high school-college division is $20 per team.
The open division, and seniors division for those ages 60 and older, is $50 per team.
Teams in the high school-college division can pay to play in the open division if desired.
The first prize for the open division is $250.
Other cash prizes depend on the amount of teams paid and registered.
There also will be children’s games, 50/50 longshot side game, raffles, concessions, prizes, and “guaranteed fun.”
