Grange notes

It was brought to my attention that Dirigo Grange and also Knox Station Grange and other Granges will have installations of officers at the Grange Hall in Freedom on Thursday, Oct. 6, starting with a 6 p.m. supper and installation to follow at 7 p.m. Public invited to watch this.

Sympathy

Our condolences to the family and friends of Mark Babin who passed this week from cancer. He was the athletic director at Nokomis Regional High School, 2013-2022. May he rest in peace. Thinking of all.

Food boxes at MVHS

There will be fresh produce and food boxes on Thursday, Oct. 6, 1-2 p.m., at the Mount View Complex. Drive-thru back parking lot.This is for anyone that needs it. First come, first served. Info Tina 568-4607.

2nd annual Pit Bike Races

At Drew’s Hard Knox on Saturday, Oct. 15. There will be barbecue food available to purchase from Freedom Fire Department. Frankie is getting ready for you. Thanks to Derek for bringing in some new dirt. Stay tuned, More later.

Frankie also coaches the Little Pirates Team of soccer players.They are doing very well.

Bow and arrow

Travis Doughty shot a deer with his bow on Saturday. Meat for the family freezer.

Birthday

Recently on Sept. 29, Bryan Buttery had a birthday, sorry I’m late. Happy birthday, Bryan!! If anyone wishes to send him a card, his address is P.O. Box 22, Augusta, ME 04332. He grew up in Knox, and reads my news.

Benefit supper

Spaghetti, salads, rolls, desserts and beverages. For Will Ryan at the Varney Building in Brooks on Sunday, Oct. 23, 3-6 p.m. $10 adults; kids under 10, $5. Chinese auction, 50/50, raffle, and dessert auction. Come and support Will as he battles cancer.
