Greetings, Brooks.

I hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weather, but it’s time to put the garden to bed.

It’s official! The Maine Historic Preservation Commission has informed the Brooks Historical Society that the Pilley House Museum has been officially entered in the National Register of Historic Places as of Sept. 15, 2022, by the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, Washington, D.C. The commission will be presenting the society a certificate signifying this recognition.

The Marsh River Theater presents “The Sweet Delilah Swim Club.” A group of female swimmers returns each year to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a weekend rendezvous to play catch-up on each other’s lives. This comedy is The Golden Girls meets Steel Magnolias meets Designing Women. Directed by Frank Champa, it stars Suzanne Hall, Elena Donovan, Nneka Oliphant, Angela Nason and Deb Fournier. The show runs on Oct. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. The Marsh River Theater is located at 24 Monroe Highway in Brooks.

Heads up! There will be a special town meeting on Thursday, Oct. 20. Details to follow next week. Watch for the warrant to be posted.

Until next week … peace.
