DE WITT, Va. — Donna Diane Corey, 78, passed away after a brief illness on Sept. 28, 2022, in DeWitt, Va. Although her first name was Donna, her family and friends affectionately knew her as Diane or “grammie.”

Diane was born on March 3, 1944, to Donald and Geneva Wingate in Unity.
She was predeceased by her grandmother Gertrude Goodwin and her parents.
Diane is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 50 years, Stillman Corey; her four children, Donald (Karen) Turner of Brooks; Theresa Small of Dinwiddie, Va.; Michael (Jackie) Huey of Benton; and Rebecca (David) Pulliam of DeWitt, Va.; six grandchildren, Tyler and Ciara Turner, Shawna Pilkey, Michaela Copeland and Megan Huey, and Matthew Pulliam; four great-grandchildren and another on the way that sadly she will not get to meet; and two sisters, Peggy Turner of Unity and Carleen Berthiaume of Zephyrhills, Fla.
Diane will be greatly missed by three very dear friends, Jean Stewart of Temple, Texas; Donna Tani of Newfield; and Pam Martin of Dewitt, Va.
Diane enjoyed gardening and canning. Diane also loved to yard sale. She was an avid collector of small trinkets and salt and pepper shakers.  Diane was definitely a people person; she was quick to make friends wherever she went, partly because of her wicked sense of humor. Diane was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.  Her absence will be felt by many. May she rest in peace.
There was a small graveside service held on Oct. 15 at the Rogers Road Cemetery, here in Maine.
