NORTHPORT — David C. Kinney of Northport, 85, passed away peacefully at Harbor Hill Center in Belfast on Oct. 21, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 9, 1937, in Searsport, the son of Kenneth and Alice (Gray) Kinney.

He worked at Penobscot Poultry for 15 years.  He was a salesman for numerous businesses for five years and a self-employed carpenter until his retirement.

He was a 60-year member of the Masons. His home Lodge was Marriners Lodge 68 in Searsport, and he was a dual member of Pownal Lodge 119 in Stockton. He was a Shriner for seven years and in the National Guard for 32 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, and his beloved wife of 62 years, Doris.

He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Annis of Augusta, Terri Curtis of Belmont and Penny Kinney of Augusta; grandchildren Mindy (Mike) Mathieu of Augusta, Shanna (Lonny) Barrows of Belmont, Natasha (Jason) Jensen of Topsham, and Kyle (Gus) Burkett of Dedham, Mass.; several great-grandchildren; a special niece, Deloris Merithew of Searsport; and best friend Keith Grant of Searsmont.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Those who wish may make memorial donations in his memory to the Harbor Hill Activities Fund, 2 Footbridge Road, Belfast, ME 04915.
