ROCKLAND — The Oceanside football squad concluded its strong 2022 high school regular season on a positive note as the Mariners sailed to a 36-6 victory over Belfast on Friday night, Oct. 21 at Wasgatt Field.

Cohen Galley finished 12-of-20 under center for Oceanside and threw for 201 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, while also rushing for 47 yards on 10 carries.

The hosts were led offensively by Aiden Sergent (23 carries for 272 yards, 2 TDs, 2-point conversion, catch for 2 yards), Robert Blair (5 catches for 85 yards, 2 TDs, 2-point conversion), Zeb Foster (catch for 25 yards, TD), Gavin Ripley (5 catches for 89 yards), Hale Morris (2-point conversion)

The Mariner defense was keyed by Sergent (3 solos tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 2 quarterback sacks), Nate Thompson (assist), Cohen Galley (solo), Blair (solo, assist), Morris (2 assists), Ben Tripp (solo, assist), Maddox Robishaw (2 assists), Ripley (3 solos, 2 assists), Larry Robbins (solo, assist), Foster (4 solos, 3 assists), Brady Proctor (2 solos), Chris Mills (solo), Jack Elwell (assist), Andrew Gehouskey (solo), Duncan Natale (4 solos, 3 assists) and Carter Galley (assist).

Kadin Bonin scored the lone touchdown for Belfast and also had eight tackles and an interception for the visitors. Luke Littlefield added 10 tackles for the Lions and Andrew Fairbrother eight.

The Mariners (5-3), who finished third in Class C North, will host a quarterfinal playoff game against No. 6 Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield (3-5) on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m., while the Lions (1-7), ranked eighth, will play at top-seeded Medomak Valley of Waldoboro (6-2) on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. at McMann Field in Bath.
