Austin J. Grant Memorial Hunters Breakfast

UNITY — Saturday, Oct. 29, 4:30 to 10:30 a.m., Snowdusters Clubhouse, Fisher Road: Annual hunters breakfast in memory of Austin J. Grant, this year in support of Gay Leighton, widow, retired mail carrier, recently diagnosed with cancer; also, funding a local driver’s ed student, paying an elderly resident’s taxes and funding a senior’s heating oil. Drug Take-Back Day

UNITY — Saturday, Oct. 29: The annual drive to turn in unused, unwanted prescription drugs for proper disposal takes place from 8 to 10 a.m. at Unity Town Office, 74 School St., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, 6 Public Safety Way, Belfast.

UU Church name-your-own-price book sale

BELFAST — Saturday, Oct. 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 38 Spring St.: Name-your-own-price book sale in the Spring Street storage unit parking lot. Lots of treasures. Art books, cookbooks, sheet music, song books, vintage books, and more! All proceeds will benefit the Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast. No book donations; the church has plenty!

Turkey Supper

‘Nowhere Left’

BELFAST — Friday, Nov. 4, 5:30 p.m.: Exhibition opening and artist reception for prints and paintings by Paul Valentine at Waterfall Arts, 256 High St. Valentine’s work celebrates the beauty and power of the earth and asks the viewer to consider the impact that their lifestyle leaves upon it. Fall Fair at First Congregational Church

SEARSPORT — Saturday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: The Fall Fair at First Congregational Church of Searsport, sponsored by the Women’s Fellowship, returns in Curtis Hall after a two-year hiatus, with baked goods, homemade jams, jellies and pickles, a white elephant table, creative handiwork, lots of jewelry, a silent auction of must-have items, and a warm lunch with a variety of quiche and a fruit cup. The Missions Committee will be selling baked beans and a variety of breads for a take-home meal, with proceeds benefiting Florida hurricane relief.

Polio Plus Fundraiser

UNITY — Saturday, Nov. 5, 2 p.m.: Unity Area Rotary Club will raise funds for Polio Plus at Stone Tree Farm and Cidery on Albion Road. Music by Kate McCann. The Ugly Dumpling food truck will also be there serving up food.

Carver Memorial Library Book Club
