Hello Monroe!

When Ethan and I moved to our farm in Monroe in 2018, we had no idea what opportunity was about to unfold with the barn on property. With the help of family and friends, the building was renovated and hosted my sister-in-law’s beautiful wedding in June 2019. We spent 2020 getting our plan solidified, and officially opened The Barn at Rosemoore to couples in 2021. Since then, we’ve witnessed dozens of beautiful weddings, along with hosting proms, anniversary and birthday parties, and baby showers.

The barn as an event venue is seasonal, and I’m now breathing a gratified sigh of relief to have hosted our final event for 2022. We’re grateful for and enjoying this venture, but appreciative of the time “off” that winter brings!

Library sale

On Friday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Monroe Community Library is hosting a benefit sale of holiday decorations with something for everyone.  Items were donated by a friend of the library with a taste for beauty, including Lenox, Hummel and Danforth Pewter ornaments.

There is also a beautiful selection of collectible holiday books, including out-of-print children’s books.  Sinatra, Streisand, musical theater buffs — we have something for you! Find the background music for your holiday parties. Lots of books, CDs and DVDs for fans of ’60s music, Broadway and TV.

This is a sale you won’t want to miss. Many price points, so everyone will go home with a treasure!  Baked goods and children’s craft table on Saturday.

And congratulations to Lynda Oliver of Monroe, winner of the library’s Halloween Raffle basket!  Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets for this raffle in support of the library.
