BELFAST — Midcoast Maine’s own Louisa Stancioff comes to Belfast’s newest music venue, The Underground Lounge, to kick off her fall tour with Glenn Echo Thursday, Nov. 10.

Songwriter and guitarist Louisa Stancioff, backed by her bandmates Dave and Dan Kelly, is quickly establishing herself as one of the premier musical artists in Maine. Her intelligent and soulful writing pairs with a confident and catchy indie sound drawing on folk, rock, pop, and her own Bulgarian heritage. The band wowed hundreds at Belfast Summer Nights music series this past August, and Down East Magazine called her voice “hypnotic,” naming her one of four Maine artists to watch. There might not be a better place to do so than in the intimate setting of The Underground Lounge, where Stancioff will share the bill with New York songwriter Glenn Echo. Echo (real name Matt Gaydar) is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist whose haunting vocals seem to hover over moody, pulsing soundscapes. Stancioff’s band will back Echo and vice versa, setting up what promises to be a richly textured show.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10, cash only at the door. The Underground Lounge is located in the basement of the Belfast Maskers Theatre at 17 Court St., hosting indie, folk and pop performers from around the area Thursday evenings.
